Forests – India has some of the world’s most beautiful woods. India’s woods are home to some of the most spectacular living species, from lush green pine and deodar trees to diverse fauna ranging from tigers to elephants. India is one of the top ten countries with extensive forest cover, accounting for roughly 67 percent of global forestry.

This is a significant success in and of itself, even though there is destruction of forest resources due to past misdeeds such as forest fires and poaching of its animals. With its numerous biosphere reserves and hotspots, the country is a naturalist’s dream. A holiday spent in one of these forests can be both relaxing and interesting. It will not only bring you closer to nature, but it will also help you gain a deeper understanding of your country and its people.

This is one of the world’s largest. Fishing cats, leopard cats, macaques, wild boar, Indian gray mongoose, fox, jungle cat, flying fox, pangolin, and chita all live in the deep forest, which is home to a huge number of Sundari trees. Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand

Jim Corbett National Park is Uttarakhand’s oldest national park, located in the Himalayan foothills of the Nainital district. Corbett National Park is part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve and is known for sheltering the endangered Bengal tiger. It is one of the most beautiful forest in India and the most dense forest in India for a relaxing trip. Jim Corbett National Park, known for its wildlife safaris, offers several riverbank resorts. It is a sanctuary for bird enthusiasts, with over 650 species of uncommon and migratory birds. Dhikala, a forest lodge on the border of Patli Dun Valley famed for its magnificent position and abundant wildlife, is the most popular destination in Corbett National Park.

During the monsoon season, Jim Corbett National Park closes- from July through October. The tourism zones of Jhirna, Dhela, and Sitabani, on the other hand, are open all year. Khansi Hills, Meghalaya

Apart from Asiatic lions, leopards such as the jungle cat, desert cat, and rusty-spotted cat live in the dry deciduous forest. Sloth bears, Indian cobras, striped hyenas, golden jackals, Indian forests mongoose, Indian palm civets, ratels, chital, nilgai, sambar, four-horned antelope, chinkara, and wild boar are among the other animals found. Gir lions are magnificent creatures, averaging 2.75 meters in length and sporting a thicker tail tassel, bushier elbow tufs, and pronounced belly folds than their African counterparts. Gir is home to 40 mammalian species and 425 avian species.

Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh

It is situated between the Mishmi Hills’ Patkai and Dapha bum ranges. Snow leopards, clouded leopards, common leopards, tigers, dholes, wolves, Asiatic black bears, red panda, red fox, yellow-throated marten, Slow Loris, Hoolock Gibbons, Capped Langurs, Assamese Macaques, and Rhesus Macaques all of which-seen in the park. The main attraction is the severely endangered Namdapha Flying Squirrel.

Namdapha, the country’s fourth largest national park, covers 1985 square kilometers and is a rich biodiversity hotspot in the Eastern Himalayas with 1000 floral and 1400 faunal species, substantial bamboo forest, and evergreen rainforests. ‘Nam’ relates to water, and ‘dapha’ to origin. It started off as a wildlife sanctuary before becoming a Tiger Reserve in 1983.

Mawphlang Sacred Forest

Locals report that removing a forest object, even a leaf or a little rock, agitates Labasa.  The Indian Army- claimed to have once retrieved a log from the woods. However, when they loaded their truck, it wouldn’t start, so they had to return the log to the forest. As a result, Mawphlang Sacred Forest is appealing not only because of its beauty but also because of its magical quality.

From October through March is the best time to visit. It is not safe to travel to Meghalaya during the rainy season since the roads can become unusable and unsafe. Mawphlang, which means Grassy Stone, is a country of legends, sacrifices, and a distinct culture. Mawphlang is the place to go if you want a glimpse of the Khasi tradition, culture, and way of life that is disappearing in the modern world. The best forest to visit.
