World Music Day– Theme and Celebration
Music Day – Music is something that most of us are born with. We can connect with rhythms and melodies even if we can’t play an instrument or even sing. Plants, for example, are aware of music. It helps to encourage creativity and make us more productive. It is just not a source of entertainment. This can also be therapeutic, easing tension and allowing you to concentrate more effectively. World Music Day aims to promote music in two ways: Amateur and Professional musicians are encouraged to perform on the streets.
The slogan used for this is “Make music” (“Faites de la Musique”).There is an organization of lots of free concerts, making all kinds of music accessible to the public. Two essential things here are- all the concerts will be held free of cost and the artists will perform in these concerts free of charge. This international day’s most significant purpose is to make music accessible to people free of cost, thus encouraging them to learn.
World Music Day 2022 Theme
Since the year of inception, the first Fete de la Musique was in the city of Paris, and it turned out to be a humongous success. year 1997, the European Music charter party- encouraging countries outside Europe to join the World Music Day celebrations annually.
In India also there are several music concerts organized as a part of the World Music Day celebration. In India, music is a form of worship. There were many eminent poets and musicians that Indian history boasts off. In the year 2019, in India Exchange4Media and Loudest.in hosted an annual music conference, Music Inc. The theme for this year was “Music on the intersections.”
In the year 2019, International Yoga Day also was celebrated on the same day as World Music day. Practice yoga with a beautiful melody in the background to achieve that tranquility. Both Amateur and professional music artists stage the concerts on this day. So, if you are a music enthusiast or a musician yourself, go all out there and soak in the essence of music. If you are someone who enjoys singing or playing music, go ahead and record a song. Put that on social media and experience the love that comes your way. Music is divine. Why World Music Day is celebrated on 21st June
Maurice Fleuret, the director of music and dance at the Ministry of Culture in October 1981, at the request of Jack Lang. His ideas on music practice and evolution were put into action. “The music is everywhere, but the concert is nowhere,” he observed. In the year 1982, he looked at the cultural habits of five million French individuals.
He analyzed that one young person out of two played some musical instrument. He started to dream about bringing this talent of the people out on the streets. As a result of this, fete de la Musique took place in Paris for the first time in 1982. Before all this happened, this idea was conceived by American musician Joel Cohen who worked for a French radio station in the 1970’s.
Since the first music festival in 1982, it has become an international phenomenon celebrated on the same day in many countries worldwide. Celebration of this music festival is in close to 700 cities in 120 countries worldwide. Some of the countries where this festival has found a great response are India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, The United States and the UK.

The Beginning of a Musician’s Life. Maurice Fleuret, a French composer and eventual founder of Fête de la Musique, was born.
The new Music Director is Maurice Fleuret. Maurice Fleuret, the future founder of Fête de la Musique, is named Director of Music and Dance, with the goal of making music more accessible to a wider audience in France.
The observance of Fête de la Musique. On June 21, which is also the day of the summer solstice, Fleuret and Lang announce Fête de la Musique in Paris.
The celebration of First World Music Day. Several countries throughout the world follow the Fête de la Musique concept, and it becomes an annual event on the global calendar.
Why We Love World Day of Music
There are spontaneous music-related events in most cities around the world. In Paris, for example, people can be seen dancing on the streets all night long. Celebrating the summer solstice doesn’t get more fun than this.
