D.El.Ed full form is a Diploma course in Elementary Education. It is a 2-year diploma course to train the primary level teachers. D.el.ed is a 2 year undergraduate diploma course divided in 4 semesters. The design of the course is such that it includes practical training and internships along with classroom training. It includes principles of child development, education practice, and the role of the teacher in grooming the students. Who can Apply for D.el.ed course – Eligibility for de.el.ed
The eligibility criteria for merit based & entrance exam based is same as follows: –
1. The candidate must obtain aggregate 50% or more marks in their 10+2 examination from a recognized board. Candidates from reserved category like Physically challenged had a relaxation of 5%.
2. Age limit for d.el.ed is minimum 18 years & maximum age limit is 35 years; may differ from state to state. Age limit relaxation for 5 years is granted to SC/ST/Physically handicapped candidates.
3. Candidates must have good communication skills, patience, Creative thinking, and fondness to teach.
Note – Students from science stream must have aggregate more or equivalent to 60% marks.
D.El.Ed Admission Process and Entrance Exams
There are two type of admission process in d.el.ed course:-
1. Merit based
2. Entrance Exam
States like Bihar, Odisha, Assam conducts entrance exam & states like west bengal, uttar pradesh conduct admission on merit basis.
Entrance exam process is followed by an interview, if the candidate clears the entrance exam. Entrance tests are conducted on an annual basis by state boards for admission in this course. dled Admission is given to the candidate, on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam, & the performance of the candidate in the interview.
Final Admission is given on basis of five stages: –
First Stage :- On the basis of eligibility

How to Apply for D.el.ed Admission – NIOS d led
This is specifically designed for the primary school in-service untrained teachers of different states throughout the country. NIOS DElEd program has been developed by the Academic Department, NIOS on the initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005 (National Curriculum Framework), RTE 2009 (Right to Education), and NCFTE 2010 (National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education) act.
To apply for admission in D.el.ed course. You must register yourself with the NIOS website (National Institute of open schooling).
The eligibility criteria for NIOS DElEd is similar to that of the requirements of the regular DElEd course. The only difference is that the degree would be considered valid only for the in-service primary teachers. The niosd.el.ed admission is done through online application and after successfully clearing the entrance exams.
