Mahabaleshwar Seasonal strawberries are grown between October and November and April and May. The ancient temple in Mahabaleshwar. Location of the temple was around 6 km from Mahabaleshwar. A symbol of the wealthy Maratha history is the famous Hindu temple. The construction of the temple was in the 16th century, during the reign of the Chanda Rao More dynasty, and is in a steep area. 

The Temple, also known as Dakshina Kashi, is one of the most famous Shiva temples in the nation. On the premises, you can see further items pertaining to Lord Shiva, such as his Damru, Trishul, Rudraksha, and the statue of Nandi (the holy bull).

Elephant’s Head Point

The best viewing area in Mahabaleshwar, with panoramic views of the beautiful valley and mountains surrounding it, has a shape that resembles an elephant’s head and trunk.

The elephant’s gap, which resembles a needle hole from a distance, is also known as The Needle Point. Lingmala Waterfall

Panch Ganga Temple

Built in the 13th century by a Yadava King named Singhandeo, Panch Ganga Temple is an ancient religious shrine near the famous Mahabaleshwar Temple. This beautiful black stone monument is located at the confluence of five holy rivers – River Krishna, Koyna, Gayatri, Savitri, and Veena. The astounding structure has stood the test of time and has been revered by Hindu devotees over ages.

There are two tanks (kund) in the temple, one of which collects water from all the rivers from a spout located in the mouth of a stone cow statue known as Gaumukhi. Hindu pilgrims consider the water holy and use it for all auspicious events. Even the devotees themselves drink the kund water as “Parshad” (sacrament).

Venna Lake

Just two kilometers from the center of the city, Venna Lake is a man-made lake that is set by the scenic background of Mahabaleshwaram. To guarantee a constant supply of water to the adjacent town, Satara’s ruler Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, a contemporary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, built it in 1842. The lake is across a vast 28 acres and has a 7 to 8 kilometer circumference. The lake is one of the most well-liked picnic areas in Mahabaleshwar due to its exquisite natural beauty.
